Greystones CNS has been collecting Christmas shoeboxes for the Peter McVerry Trust - a charity that tackles the issue of homelessness in Ireland. The trust has made a video with some of the GCNS first class students who explain what they put in the boxes and their thoughts on how to stop homelessness.
You can see the video here (opens a new page).
More information about the trust and the amazing work they do can be found at https://www.pmvtrust.ie/
The Halloween disco was a massive success. It was a great event for the kids, but also a great fundraising success as we managed to raise €794.35 for our school!
We would like to thank you all or attending and contributing. Special thanks go to the following for their help on the night:

A big thank you to Fiona Toolan for organising the wonderful new games in the playground. With the help of two very talented Granddads, Niall and Andrew, and a small team, the school playground was transformed in a few hours!
This week the Children brought home their first Library books. The School Library is where we have seen the first significant proportion of money raised through our fundraising efforts being put into action. With PTP funds, the school has been able to purchase a larger number and variety of books for the Library. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the fundraising over the past two years, without the Parents, Families and Friends of GCNS this wouldn’t be possible.
We wish to thank all the Parents, Family, Friends and Staff of GCNS for making our first Quiz night a great success. A great night was had by all! A special mention for our wonderful Quiz master on the night Jay from Go Gym. Go Gym have contributed a lot to our community over the past few years and will be our new neighbours soon! It was really appreciated that Jay could help us out on the night. Thanks also to Camilla for the great photos. More pictures can be found in the gallery.
